Jaipur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau Team (ACB) from Jaipur arrested a police officer (DSP) supervisor posted as Circle Officer (CO), a countryside in the Jhunjhunu District and two policemen for allegedly accepting RS 1.55 Lakh bribes.
Both police officers accepted bribery on behalf of DSP ranking officials to submit a chargesheet in cases related to the dowry harass from the complainant.
B L Soni, Director General, ACB, stated that complaints approached the headquarters on September 10 and stated that the defendant Co.
Bhanwar Lal Khokhar along with two police officers Rajve Singh and Mahipal Singh demanded Bribery RS 2 Lakh.
“Bribery was required to submit a chargesheet in a case related to dowry harassment.
Following complaints, our team verifies.
In verification, Constable asked the circle officer whether they had to accept bribes or not who gave a positive response.
After verification, the trap was placed where the three defendants were arrested , “said Soni.
Two ACB teams participated in the trap because one team won at the Co office while another team reached Nawalgarh located in the House of the Constable Mahipal Singh.
“After Mahipal told the circle officer at the reception of Rs 1.
55 Lakh bribes, our team raided and arrested the defendant.
Likewise, another team caught a circle and Constable Rajveer Singh officer,” said an ACB senior officer.
According to ACB officers, CO’s allegations have maintained a chargesheet in the case of dowry harassment since February 2020.
Although the two police demanded bribery Rs 2 Lakh, then agreed to receive Rs 1.5 lakh, “the officer added.
The case under the right part of the prevention of the Corruption Act has also been submitted to the three defendants while the teams robbed in their offices and housing places.
