Jhut Jolokia Chili Famous in Nagaland made the road to London

Guwahati: The world’s hottest chili, ‘Bhoot Zolokia’ famous Nagaland or the king of chilli, has walked to London through Guwahati by air.
Scoville hot unit (shus) has given CIQUE status to the hottest in the world.
Export gives the main Thurst for business, especially for products with geographical indications (GI), from the northeastern region.
The dragon chili consignment was obtained from Kohima and other parts of Nagaland.
It consists of 250kg chili as a sample delivery along with 500kg betel leaf.

Apeda collaborated with the Nagaland State Agricultural Marketing Board (NSAMB), coordinating the first export consignment of the new king.
Apeda has coordinated with NSamm in sending samples for laboratory testing in June and July 2021 and the results are encouraging because they are organically planted.
In 2021, Apeda facilitated the export of Jackfruits from Tripura to London and Germany, Lemon Assames to London, Red Rice Assam to the United States and the ‘Burma Grape’ defense to Dubai.
Under the center scheme of Krishi Udan, the NE airport has been flown near around 2,000 MT of the easily damaged charge to mainland India and as extended legs, has exported more than 25 items to various foreign destinations by offering 50% subsidies at the cost of transportation and storage below Operation Green.
The consignment on Wednesday was sent from Guwahati Airport in front of the guest chief Sasikumar, Director General of Foreign Trade and Ravi Kant, Regional Executive Director, NE Regional Airport Authority, and other officials.
Ravi Kant said the opportunity was special because of the GI ‘Bhoot Zolokia’- unique products from the northeast are exported to the global market.
“We are very enthusiastic that the potential exports of the Northeast Airport cargo will grow and this will benefit organizations and farmers who produce local food,” he said.
Airport officials insist on renewing facilities in the logistics room to meet the trade needs and industrial air cargo.
Vageesh Pandey, Assistant Director at Plant Quarantine Station, Guwahati, was happy to issue a Phytosanitary certificate for chili which took place for the first time from Assam to England.
This certificate is accepted globally for factory products and factories from India to any foreign country.
He said that on Saturday, there were plans to send colocasia to England.
“From next week we will certify one or two shipments every day from the Region Ne to all European countries,” added Pandey.
Guwahati airport cargo terminal has exported local products and fruits, including lemon, ginger, betel leaf and vegetables for various parts of the country and foreign destinations.
These are mostly organic with high demand in the domestic and international markets.
