WASHINGTON: President Joe Biden on Tuesday nominated Jissa Reynoso, Chief of Staff to Lady Jill Biden and former Ambassador, to serve as ambassadors to Spain and Andorra.
Reynoso also serves as chairman with the White House Gender Policy Board, a role that has advocacy on behalf of women and girls in the US and throughout the world.
He is expected to remain in his current role until he was confirmed by the Senate.
An unnamed successor, according to the first spokesman for Michael Larosa.
The first mother said when she met Reynoso in 2019 they “ immediately clicking.
“We stayed at touch, and I knew if we came to the White House, that I wanted it as my chief of staff,` `Jill Biden said in a statement.
“ He is extraordinary and extraordinary leaders and friends.
Given his experience and his heart, I can think nothing is better than Julissa to represent us in Spain and Andorra.
Reynoso served as an ambassador to Uruguay and a senior Department of Foreign Affairs officials during the Obama-Biden administration.
He has been considered for the top work in the State Department when the first woman recruited her to join her team.
