JIND: Jind District Administration has imposed a ban on ‘Kanwar Yatra’ for this year and the police have established extra barricades at all entry points and exits to stop pilgrims.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Aditya Dahiya and police supervisor (SP) Waseem Akram jointly appealed to residents not to go to Haridwar to bring ‘Kanwar’ and the action will be taken under the disaster management law, if anyone feels violated command.
When looking at the possible third Covid-19 waves, the district government took steps to stop the movement between countries and ensure the right checkpoint.
In particular, pilgrims have visited Haridwar to bring ‘Kanwar’ every year, but this year the Uttarakhand government has suspended the entry of outsiders to avoid worse situations.
Therefore, Jind Regency authorities have been seeking cooperation from the masses in the public interest.
In addition, the authorities also appeal to maintain peace and harmony by avoiding circulating whatever hatred or false news in areas or strict actions will be taken against them.
There are four active Coronavirus cases in the district and 536 people have died so far.
