Jio-google smartphone, but analysts are not impressed

New Delhi: Will the AMBANI-Google partnership succeed in taking Chinese domination in the Indian smartphone market? Analysts don’t seem to think so.
As Reliance Jio announced the launch of the first affordable smartphone developed (Jiophone Next) which aims to capture a large number of telephone buyers with prices in advance of Rs 6,499 or Bundled Emi Plan (18-24 months) after A down payment RS 1,999, analysts do not Read many things.
While the telephone aims to use, and increase, around 350-400 million display telephone customers, analysts say that the EMI plan – ranging from Rs 300 and above – expensive and not too profitable for targeted audiences.
And while the phone may still capture “some updates” and other smartphone buyers in the price category Rs 5,000-7,000, may not be enough to disturb the Chinese juggernaut (consisting of companies such as Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, RealMe) that today God is almost 80% from a smartphone business.
“I was disappointed and surprised at the price.
It’s not synchronous of market reality and is valued higher than expected,” Navkendar Singh, research director at IDC, told TII.
“How can you expect features of the user feature, which might only spend RS 70-80 on the telephone bill every month, to pay EMI of Rs 300, or even more for the intensive data plan (RS 600)?” Tarun Pathak, Director of Research in Counterpoint, said that “Chinese companies may not be threatened with” with new Jio devices.
“The average selling price (ASPS) of smartphones has risen and China is more focused on the RS 7,000-plus category.
Jio Phone Falls a little from this target.” Phone – which runs on specialized operating systems (Pragati) based on Google Android – However, bringing many features provided by the company as unique and interesting for buyers targeted by Jio-Google.
This allows content translations in the choice of 10 Indians, read text on the screen, and offer digital assistants (such as Siri) who answered voice questions.
Mukesh Ambani, Chair of the Reliance Industries said that the team on Google and Jio had “managed to bring this breakthrough device” to Indian consumers, regardless of the current global supply challenges caused by covid pandemics.
“I have always been a strong believer in the power of the digital revolution to enrich, allow and empower the life of 1.35 billion Indians.
We have done it in the past with connectivity.
Now we activate it again with a smartphone device.” Sundar Pichai, Google CEO and Alphabet, said the next Jiophone is an affordable smartphone designed for India.
“To build it, our team must work together to solve complex engineering and design challenges, and I am happy to see how millions of people will use this device to improve their lives and communities.”
