New Delhi: In about two years the commercial turn of his broadband-line service, Reliance Jio has dropped 20-year-run state-run company telecom BSNL as the top service provider in the segment.
According to a monthly telecommunication customer report released by Telecom Trai regulator on Tuesday, Jio now leads a fixed line broadband segment with 4.34 million customers.
The segment has been dominated by telecommunications of countries from the start of about 20 years ago.
Reliance Jio Fixed-Line Broadband Customer Base increased to 4.34 million in November from 4.16 million in October.
The BSNL customer base declined to 4.2 million in November from 4.72 million in October.
Bases the Broadband Line Broadband Bharti Airtel customer stands at 4.08 million in November.
JIO started a commercial roll of a fixed line broadband service, Jiofibre, in September 2019.
While Jio starting from the beginning, BSNL had 8.69 million wired broadband customers in September 2019 which was reduced to less than half of November 2021.

Broadband customers in the country grew to 801.6 million in November from 798.95 million in October with Reliance Jio maintaining its lead in the segment, according to the Telecom Regulating Authority of Indian Customer Report (Trai).
“The top five service providers are 98.68 percent of the market share of total broadband customers at the end of November,” Trai said.
Reliance Joio Broadband Basis Broadband reached 432.96 million in November.
It was followed by Bharti Airtel with 210.10 million broadband customers, VIL 122.40 million, a broadband customer base of the BSNL and Atria broadband broadband and atria reached 1.98 million.
