New Delhi: Jitendra Singh on Thursday took over as Minister of Science and New Union Technology.
Singh on Wednesday allocated two new portfolios – Ministry of Science and Technology and the science of the Minister of Earth – with an independent charge after the reshuffle of the union cabinet.
He will be responsible for Minister of Earth Sciences later.
The two ministries were not new to Singh.
He has held these two portfolios for a short period in 2014 in the first period of Modi’s government.
Singh, who is the Minister of State, at the Prime Minister’s office also has an allegations of the atomic energy sensitive department and the Department of Space.
He is also a MOS at the Ministry of Personnel, public complaints and retirement.
