GANDERBAL: A political activist was detained after he told a adviser of the Lt governor he has hopes against a Kashmiri officer like him instead of bureaucrats from out, opinions that violated that the Ganderbal deputy commissioner who’s an IAS officer out of Uttar Pradesh.
After being detained under Section 153 (promoting enmity between different classes ) of this IPC, Sajad Sofi (50), a resident of Ganderbal, has been granted bail with a court.
But he had been kept under preventative detention for being a”threat to peace”.
CPM leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami on Tuesday named Sofi’s arrest”unwarranted” and also”a brazen breach of basic rights”.
Sofi made the comments at a’Janta Darbar’ of both LG advisor Baseer Khan in Mansbal on June 10.
He explained,”I could get expectations from you since you’re a Kashmiri and you’ll be able to know us.
I am able to catch you by the collar and find answers.
However, what expectations could I get from officers that are outsiders?” This remark didn’t go well with Ganderbal deputy commissioner Krittika Jyotsna.
She stood up in her chair and also”strongly objected” to Sofi’s remarks.
