SRINAGAR: PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday welcomed the launch of her uncle along with older party chief Sartaj Madni by a six-month-long preventative detention and stated it’s high time political prisoners and other detainees be allowed go from the Centre.
“Relieved that PDP’s Sartaj Madni has been published after 6 weeks of wrongful detention.
It is time GOI (authorities of India) releases political prisoners and other detainees rotting in jails in and out J&K.
A raging pandemic should have been reason enough to spare them” Mufti composed on Twitter.
Madni, that had been under preventative detention in MLA hostel here, has been published on Saturday afternoon.
Madni was arrested on December 21 final year, a day before the launching of votes of the District Development Council elections.
