Ranchi: Jharkhand secured the top position in the country category with less than 100 local bodies at Swachhta Survekshan, 2021.
President Ramnath Kovind handed over the trophy to the secretary of urban development Vinay Chaubey and his team at a function held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Saturday.
Jamshedpur also pocketed the second position in the challenge of Safai Mitra Surakha among cities that have a population between three and 10 lakh.
Jugsalai has been honored as the best city in the eastern zone based on the feedback of citizens in residence with a population between 25,000 and 50,000.
The State Minister for Housing and Urban Work, Hardeep Singh Puri, congratulated the Jharkhand government, the Department of Urban Development and the People of the State award.
When receiving the award, the Chairman of the Minister of Hemant Soren said, “It is an honor for us to be chosen as the best performing country in Swachhta Survekshan 2021.
I thank all the people of the upper state of their contribution in maintaining city cleanliness.” Jharkhand, who has taken Some steps about cleanliness have received several awards since 2017 during the cleanliness survey.
Among the steps taken are the collection of door-to-door waste, the program to ensure cooperation from citizens, giving priority to separation and processing waste and ban carrying bags to ensure cleanliness in cities.
