Ranchi: Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) does not seem to understand the point of building a criminal conspiracy in the death of Dhanbad Judge Uttam Anand.
In a sealed report submitted to the Jharkhand High Court here on Friday, the CBI was reported to say his investigation has confirmed that the judge surrendered in the injury caused by the autorickshaw who dropped it earlier on July 28 when Anand came out for morning walking out.
The report was submitted to the division bench from Chairman of the Chair of Dr.
Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad, who was conducting an online hearing on this issue.
The High Court has monitored investigations taken over by the CBI after the recommendation of the state government.
The bench has directed the CBI to give a fresh status report on the investigation carried out so far and ordered it to examine the alleged angle of the conspiracy behind the death of the judge.
During the trial, the bench was told that two people – Lakhan Verma and Rahul Verma – had been arrested and interrogated.
The CBI was also asked for the Narco analysis test from the duo where their blood and urine was sent to special laboratories outside the country.
CBI’s advice said that since the Forensic Science Laboratory in the Capital City has no provisions to test the defendant’s sample, the sample has been sent outside.
The bench then warned the CBI opposed to damage the sample and alleged interpolation in the test report.
The court also ordered the agency to ensure that samples and reports were brought back by air and not by train.
Further bench said if the need appeared to take the defendant for the proposed test, the air travel must be the only choice.
Air travel will ensure more safety and security, the judges are observed.
It can be mentioned that Anand’s death has been suspected of being murder given the fact that he is handling several sensitive cases.
CCTV cameras have captured the incident when Anand was torn down and one recording became a viral on social media after being reported by a police officer, which was later suspended.
The incident shook the judiciary not only in the state but the entire country and the Supreme Court also recognized this problem.
