Hyderabad: Explaining that Jawaharlal Technology University Nehru (JNTU), Hyderabad, has the last word in approving a new engineering course or increasing seats in Telangana, the Supreme Court on Thursday makes it mandatory for several private engineering colleges in the state, including Hyderabad, to get Affiliates from the University after meeting the established criteria.
Judge Dy Chandrachud and Bopanna said this order after hearing the appeal raised by the JNTU Registra Dr.
M Manzoor Hussain, who challenged the temporary direction provided by Telangana High Court who demanded affiliates to all universities that had obtained permission from Aicte.
Jntu-hyderabad oversees technical education throughout Telangana.
Some private engineering colleges, who have secured Atte nodded for an additional 2,500 seats in computer science engineering, artificial intelligence, information technology, data science, and the Internet of Things, etc., now they have to surrender themselves to JNTU-Hyderabad authorities and prove their infra credentials .
While the college insisted that they had to be given permission to continue because Aicte had allowed them, JNTU said that they had to first get the NOC (NOC) certificate from the country and the affiliate process would begin only after that.
Senior CS Vaidyanathan adviser, defending JNTU’s action, said the state must plan educational facilities proportionally and have a limit obligation to prevent fungi from similar courses at one point and the university has the responsibility to provide affiliates only universities that have the necessary infrastructure.
As a country then gave NOC to several universities, the bench, however, recorded JNTU guarantee that it would complete inspections within 10 days.
Bench, while still ordering Telangana HC, however, directs JnTU to place the report before HC after inspection.
HC will make a decision with respect to each university after verifying the inspection report treated by JNTU.
The APEX court observed that he still remembered the interests of students who had acknowledged this year, but explained that all universities had to go through JNTU inspection.
