New Delhi: The fifth meeting of the University of Jawaharlal Nehru will be held virtually on September 30 with the education Minister Union Dharmendra Pradhan as the guest chief.
The first convocation of the university was held in 1972 when G Parthasarathi was a representative of Chancellor.
Practice continued in 2018 after a gap of nearly 46 years with JNU Chancellor Dr.
V K Saraswat as the guest chief.
Vice President Venkaiiah Naidu was the leading guest at the third meeting who saw the protest by students about the increase in the cost of the hostel, forcing after the HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ to stay in a venue for more than six hours.
Last year, the meeting was held online because of the Covid pandemic with President of RAM Nath Kovind Gracing The Recon.
