NEW DELHI: The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has declared the Dr BR Ambedkar Central Library will stay closed in light of this coronavirus situation.

The decision comes amid requirements by pupils to reopen the library.

“Because of the prevailing case of Covid-19 and curfew declared by the Delhi administration, the Dr BR Ambedkar Central Library will stay closed until further orders,” the college said Sunday.
Before this past year, the college government had alleged that some pupils broke to the library and also scuffled with security guards, after which they”inhabited” that the Dr BR Ambedkar Central library.
It was lodged an FIR against them for allegedly breaking into the centre and clashing with all the team .
Discussing the launching of this library, the college had stated,”After due deliberations, keeping in accordance with government requests along with the academic pursuits of the student community, the college administration has chosen to take suitable measures to start the Dr BR Ambedkar Central Library shortly”
“This may comply with all the anticipated announcement of the authorities regarding additional unlocking steps in Delhi,” it was said.
