Hyderabad: The Indian Super League side Hyderabad FC has maintained Brazilian midfielder Joao Victor, who signed a two-year extension until the end of the 2022-23 campaign, the club announced on Friday.
Easily in midfield and defense, the 32-year-old was an integral part of the HFC squad that was completed outside Top-4 in the 2019-20 season from ISL.
“I was really happy to extend my stay with the club and continue to be part of this amazing family,” Joao Victor said, after writing an extension.
“Our target is to win every match and it will be the same again this season.
And I hope, we can do better than the end placed from last season,” Brazil added, who joined the club in August 2020.
The former La Liga midfielder Making 17 begins under the head coach of Manolo Marquez last season, registering three goals and two assists.
Joao Victor was also the captain of the party on several occasions throughout the campaign.
Manolo believes that his presence will be very important for HFC in the coming season.
“Joao (Victor) is a great leader, on and off the field, last season.
He is experienced, knows what to do in every situation and is a full player,” Spain said.
“He is strong not only technically and tactically, but also mentally.
He knows when to demand and when it should be a little easily with his teammate and his relationship with Indian children is fantastic.
He is a natural winner,” Manolo added.
