Washington: US President Joe Biden has nominated a leading Indian-American doctor and a surgeon to serve in the leading role in his government.
Former West Virginia Health Commissioner, Dr.
Rahul Gupta was nominated on Tuesday as the next director of the National Narcotics Control Policy Office.
Atul Gawande, a popular surgeon and author, was nominated for the Bureau Assistant Administrator for global health at the US Agency for international development.
A primary care doctor who practiced 25 years, Gupta previously served under two governors as West Virginia Health Commissioner.
