WASHINGTON: US President Joe Biden on Wednesday signed a law, bills called for more sanctions and other punishment measures against the Government of President Nicaragua Daniel Ortega, who extended his grip in the election that Washington had been criticized as Sham, the White House was said.
The arrest of dozens of opposition politicians, including the expectations of the President, all but guaranteed by Ortega, a former Marxist guerrilla, will win the fourth consecutive term in the Sunday election, tightening his grip in the Central American country when facing an increase in international isolation.
