Ghaziabad: Authorities at the Joint District Hospital, whih have faced Crunch staff for several months, has urged the Ministry of Health to direct Medico-legal cases, where operations and CT-scans are needed, to the MMG District Hospital.
While CT-scan facilities in hospitals are run on a public-private partnership model and radiologists operating from Pune, hospitals do not have surgeons for the past few months.
Medical Supervisory Chief Dr.
Sanjay Teotia has written to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) who asked him to stop the Medico-legal work references from the public health center and the primary health center.
“CT-scan is often needed in the case of medico-legal.
Our radiologist at Pune checks CT-scan done here online and then sends a report.
In cases where patient fingerprints must be certified by a radiologist, we cannot do much .
In some cases, a radiologist must be present during court hearings, which is impossible, because the person is in Pune.
In addition, our radiologist who works for private companies does not want to be involved in this process, “Teotia said, adding that sometimes – Sometimes, such problems have caused problems between local police officers and hospital staff too.
He said the MMG hospital had the necessary facilities and cases had to be sent there.
According to sources in hospitals, CT-Scan facilities were established about three years ago, but the number of Medico-legal cases have increased in recent months.
“For the past half a year, the hospital runs as a covid facility.
Now covid patients are lacking, police cases come here almost every day,” said the source.
