Kolkata: In the fresh twist to their internal quarrel, all Indian chess federations Joint or Lahiri Secretary on Saturday sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who accused the “theft of data, corruption and misuse of funds” by Secretary Bharat Singh Chauuhan.
This step came less than a month after the AIC secretary had come to Kolkata to give official recognition to ‘Sara Bangla Daba Sangsha’ (SBD) as the body of Apex in Bengal, overriding the association of Bengal Chess which was supported by the International Master of Lahiri.
SBD is supported by Grandmaster Berky Bamarua based in the city, with whom it has been in Loggerhead since 2019 when Veteran GM has flattened various charges including “misuse of funds” against it.
In his five-page letter to the Prime Minister, Lahiri has alleged that Chauhan has signed a “secret agreement” with Indian Mind Root Private Ltd to share “all data and confidential information from the Federation”.
“Secretly agreed to share all data, including personal information about 1,00,000 registered chess players and officials from India, to commercial companies engaged in the chess training business, Bharat Singh Chauhan has misused his position as AICF secretary,” he wrote.
“In addition, he has compromised the security of the personal information of chess players, making them vulnerable to online information on banking information and even child abuse,” Lahiri said in his complaint.
Meanwhile, Chauhan replied, said “Revenge Lahiri came when he issued a show because of notice for his forgery and for the recovery of funds from the Indian Sports Authority.” Lahiri further claimed that NURTR – a sister company from Indian Root Thought Private Ltd – was given preferential care by Chauhan.
“The closeness of Nutras with Bharat Singh Chauhan can be established clearly because it has been given preferential care by Chauhan in all events that he specifically organized,” Writing Lahiri, by quoting examples of media responsible for 2019 World Junior Chess Championship and Delhi International Open , Lahiri, who had previously been shown by the National Federation to be involved in “anti-aicf activities”, alleged abuse of the next AICF funds.
“At 18.05.2021, AICF Secretary, Bharat Singh Chauhan, circulated the AICF budget allocation for 2021-22 and was for Hospital 3 Crore for the AICF Permanent Office in his home city in Delhi.
Then, he called offline meetings during a pandemic to get a budget to get a budget.
“Write Lahiri.
“On June 30, a statement on empty paper signed by Chauhan, along with President Sanjay Kapoor and Treasurer Naresh Sharma, sent to all members stating that the Federation acquired property in 101 & 102, a block, Navrang Bhavan, 21 kg Marg, New Delhi, for the AICF office.
“No need to buy a permanent office for AICF in Delhi or other cities by spending RS 3 Crore, especially when the office space can be rented from the bank’s interest,” Lahiri wrote.
Chauhan hit Lahiri and said that he was Talk is to protect the interest of the players and don’t sell any data.
” The NDA discussed by Lahiri is to protect the interests of the players.
Don’t sell any data.
All of this was discussed in GB and the problem was closed, “he said in a statement.
AICF has filed a petition of the possibility of the case of forgery and misuse of funds by Lahiri almost ten months back.
The Ministry of Sports is actually written then AICF PR President’s Venketrama King president but he never returned the request , said Secretary of the Chess Federation.
Responding to the charges of Lahiri on the AICF who owns the office, Chauhan said, “in February this year GB AICF has agreed that AICF must have it office.
And in the next two meetings, the details agreed upon unanimously about this.
As a GB Lahiri member was present and did not ask the question when this was resolved.
“He claimed that the state chess players were far happier than before and said,” We created new opportunities for them.
“” Intimidation has never been our motto.
We are only for players.
All of this is a suction with his imagination, “he added.” Lahiri acting now because we have issued a show causing notification and he is responsible for paying a number of Rs 7.5 lakh to AICF, “Chauhan said.
