JSLPS, Indian sightsavers hand in hand to create a respectable work culture to disable

Ranchi: Community Promotion of Jharkhand Livelihood (JSLPS) with the help of Indian Sightsavers, a development organization, launched a campaign for people with disabilities in the state in an effort to create a respectable workplace for different.
Two days ago, JSLPS signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Indian sightsavers at Ranchi Paving Way for a four-year tie-up to work at this Heartland Tribal.
JSLPS officials on Sunday said that the formal launch of activities in the field will begin in the next few weeks.
JSL CEO Nancy Sahay said that they also released a manual – the path to inclusive employment (employer guide) – during the MOU signing program to encourage inclusive practices by private companies.
He said, “Ensuring an inclusive work culture is very important for the integration of disabled people in the workplace.
The company has the potential to support the disability to find work.
They can start and their help can make a big difference in the life of people with disabilities.” Sightservers CEO India, R N Mohanty added that regardless of the legal mandate, most organizations avoid recruiting people with disabilities due to negative prospects and income assumptions.
But with the right awareness, experience, attention and appearance of prospitis, employers can understand that making an inclusive work environment beneficial for organizations and employees with disabilities, he said.

In their action line, Sahay said that they would work on three levels – sensitive to entrepreneurs, people who were skilled with disabilities and created opportunities for them.
There are around two people with disabilities in Jharkhand, according to the number of recipients registered under different government schemes for disabilities.
“Gradually, JSLPS will hold various activities that are exclusively made for such people in the coming weeks.
For training and skills, we will use the DDU network and GJKY training center throughout the state to prepare them for the labor market,” Sahay said.
