Jumbo giant statues found in Hassan

MySuru: Giant Elephant Statues have been found on coffee plantations in Bellur Taluk Hassan.
The statue, which weighed around 25 tons, was found in a coffee plantation owned by a local resident of Manjunath at Aanekalluhalli from Benninamane Village.
Officials from the State Archaeological Department, Museums, and Heritage visited the village and planned to take further research to find out more about the statue.
According to Kumar HC, the department curator, the size is 10x10ft.
“This statue is incomplete,” he said, adding that there was not much information available today.
“We will look for stone inscriptions in this area to find out more about it,” he added.
