Dumka: A mid afternoon bunch was sentenced to death by an elephant at Maldiha village at Jamtara district Sunday if they were outside to attend nature’s telephone.
The episode happened under Fatehpur police channel.
The deceased had been identified as Jiyalal Pawariya (52) along with his spouse Sonamani Tudu.
The episode sparked protests by local villagers that gheraoed girl stove officer Pratima Kumari for many hours in the daytime.
Afterwards, district police pacified the horse with a promise to push the elephant away into a safer location.
Resources said it had been the identical elephant that got separated from the own herd couple of months back and is drifting across various districts of Santhal Pargana, killing at least 11 men from the current times.
