Chandigarh: The Bureau of Haryana State Vigilance has arrested a Junior Engineer Bijli with a red hand while receiving Rs 5,000 as a bribe of former Sarpanch.
A Bureau spokesman said that the defendant had been identified as Amit Kumar posted in Nissing in Karnal Regency.
Gurlau complainants, former Sarpana, filed a complaint stating that it was accused of demanding money as a substitute for the Electric Transformer of the Harijan Chaupal in Balu Village in Karnal Regency.
Acting on complaints, a team, led by the alertness bureau, put the trap and arrest the defendant.
The case under the prevention of the corruption law has been registered with the defendant at the Bureau Police Station, Karnal.
