HYDERABAD: Amid the increasing instances of mucormycosis (black fungus) in the Government ENT Hospital, officials stated that the disease is increasingly being viewed one of non-diabetics.
According to officers, just 30 percent patients having black disease, under treatment in the government center, are parasitic.
“There have been several cases without a record of hospitalisation, steroids, and oxygen assistance, that are non-diabetic and have been at house quarantine but contracted black warts.
The strain of this virus is to blame for diminishing immunity and manufacturing patients more exposed to black illness,” explained Dr Manish Gupta, resident medical staff in Government ENT Hospitaland also the nodal center for mucormycosis therapy that has seen almost 400 cases up to now.
Inhalation of fungal spores within the surroundings that may get embedded into the rectal mucosa, uterus or lymph nodes may lead to the disease if the immune system isn’t healthy.

A few also resorted to house remedies.
In addition, unhygienic lifestyle habits like using the identical mask many times without losing may lead to many complications and bring dark warts,” added the ENT Hospital RMO.
