New Delhi: An explosion outside Kabul airport killed at least 13 people, including children, and injured many Taliban guards, a Taliban official told Reuters.
The US military confirmed about the explosion outside the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Afghanistan, where the United States and other countries have evacuated tens of thousands of people.
“We can confirm that the explosion near the Gate of Abbey Kabul Airport has produced a number of unknown victims.
We will continue to update,” said the Press Secretary of the Pentagon John Kirby.
Since the takeover of the Taliban City earlier this month, thousands of Afghan civilians and foreigners have gathered at the airport, which has military and civilian teams, despair to be flown abroad.
A US military official confirmed that at least one explosion occurred at the Abbey gate, the main entrance to the international airport.
The initial report showed that the explosion was caused by at least one suicide bomber wearing a burst vest.
It is not clear how many people were injured or did anyone die, but the large crowd had gathered at the gate in the past few days.
