PANAJI: The Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) has finished the functions of erecting a charging station to their vehicles (EV) in the Margao bus rack.
There are a whole lot of 50 buses to be sent under stage two of their FAME India scheme.
Of those 50 buses which have been given to Goa in the Hyderabad-based maker, 30 have came at the nation and are being rectified in the Margao charging channel.
The transformer by that the charging channel is powered was set up at Margao for its charging station about 15 days before, KTC managing director, Derek Pereira Neto told TOI.
“Currently we just have the only charging channel at Margao.
We need funding in the central and state authorities for the setup of charging channels in different regions,” he explained.
Even the 30 EVs are now being billed in the Margao-based charging channel.
Of them, only 10 were working as of today because of inferior footfalls throughout the Covid curfew.
“It isn’t feasible for all of us to run all of our trucks with 50 percent capacity.
We’re facing a reduction of Rs two lakh daily for the,” he explained.
Besides this, a tender crossover to secure 100 electrical mini buses is anticipated to be opened following 15 days.
“We’d long the dates to the acquisition of 100 EVs because of increasing Covid-19 instances, and inadequate reaction.
Within 15 days it’ll be opened.
When it is opened , concurrently the job of charging channels are also consumed.” He explained.
These miniature EVs will be conducted on operational cost system and are separate from the larger electric buses which were found under the FAME India scheme.
