NAINITAL: Covid limitations in Uttarakhand have contributed to the growth of annual mela in Nainital’s Kaichi Dham to its 2nd consecutive year.
But, countless pilgrims flocked to the shrine and flew to Neem Karoli Baba in the street throughout the temple.
Speaking to TOI, Vinod Joshi, among the mates of this Kainchi Dham, stated that this is just the second time in more than five years which the yearly mela was cancelled.
“At the past 57 decades, this is just the next time the mela was cancelled.
We chose after consulting all stakeholders as it’s required to prevent all mass collecting and stop the spread of Covid.
However all of the rituals are conducted according to our customs and we expect that pilgrims are going to have the ability to attend the mela from the next season,” Joshi said.
The pilgrims meanwhile stated they know the Covid scenario in the nation and for that reason because of constraints they flew into the Neem Karoli Baba from throughout the street.
“We had been expecting that since Covid instances return the temple could start.
No matter how the government determined that no pilgrim would be permitted so we followed each of the precautions and did not even attempt to get entrance to the temple.
But, I wished to visit the region and simply pay my pleasures that I did,” explained Nithesh Bisht.
The Kaichi Dham is arguably among the most revered shrines in Kumaon area that has been seen by many famous people such as Prime Minister Modi and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
Shortly after the societies in the shrine, peaks were ordered in a few places across Nainital and also the Prasad has been distributed.
