Nagpur: Sarskerto Scholar was awarded with Mahakavi Kalidas Sanskrit Sadhana Award at a ceremony held at Kavikulguru University Kalidas Sanskrit, Ramtek, on Saturday.
In all 48 scholars from various countries presented awards bring RS25,000 cash, certificates and books.
Maharashtra Minister of Higher Education and Technical, Uday Samant, led the function organized by the Ministry of Higher Education.
Samant said, “It is necessary to maintain and protect Sanskrit.
I first decided to establish a sub-center from the University in Ratnagiri and a Gurukul in Ganpatipule in my constituency.
To mark the completion of 25 years of university, three sub-centers will be established in Pune Parbhani and Jalgaon, “he said.

Deputy Chancellor Shrinivasa Varnahedi thanked Samant for university expansion and fulfilled the promise to hold award function at the university.
