Jalandhar: The day after his election as President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee in a controversial condition, Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) Unit Delhi President Harmet Singh Kalka resigned from his position to serve as President of the Gurdwara Delhi Management Committee while “rising above politics” and to serve Very Delhi with justice.
He has also explained that he is very sad and has resigned only because the policy framed by Sad President Sukhbir Singh Badal that the DSGMC and Sad (Delhi) unit president should not be the same person.
“In the DSGMC election, Delhi’s sad unit got a lot of support from the highest and had entrusted the responsibility of being a DSGMC president to me.
Now, it is my responsibility that I have to serve up on politics after taking all members.
So, I resigned from President’s position so I can serve very from Delhi while staying fair, “he wrote in his resignation letter to Badal.
When asking, said Kalka, “the party gave me a lot of respect and I wanted to serve in the field of religion.
I remained very much with Akali Dal and there were no questions leaving a party.”
