Thane: Gandhari Bridge, which connects Kalyan City to Jalan Mumbai-Agra here in Maharashtra, has developed cracks and therefore, has been closed for traffic, a citizenship official said on Tuesday.
The bridge is almost 20 years old, built on the Ulhas River, stretching from Kalyan (West) to National Highway No.3 in Padgha Check Post.
According to the engineers of the Department of Public Works in Thane, the bridge recently developed cracks and in dangerous conditions.
It was closed for vehicle movements with the effect of Monday to further notice, Kalyan-Dombivli spokesman Municipal Corporation Madhavi Phoidal said.
