Thane: Criminal cases have been registered against a BJP Corporator from Civic’s body in Kalyan City in Thane Maharashtra Regency for allegedly persecuting and stalking a woman, police said on Thursday.
The police identified the defendant as Sandeep Gaikar, Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC).
The case against it was submitted on Wednesday under the IPC 354 section (attack or criminal to a woman with a view to anger, 354-D (stalking), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 323 (voluntarily causing illness), and the parts Relevant from it acting on the woman’s complaint, an official from the Bazarpeth police station said.
According to the police, a complainant, who is a social worker, has claimed he was followed and harassed by the Corporator for two years.
The defendant and the victims have known each other since 2014, they said .
She was accused Gaikar followed him in the car and touched her inappropriately, the official said.
The complainant also claimed corporator threatened to attack her with acid and allegedly sending lewd messages and pictures on Instagram, he added.
