Kalyan: The color of the Ulhas river changes, MPCB collects samples

Kalyan: Residents and Social Workers on Monday complained to change the color of the Ulhas river because of industrial waste which was not treated between Apti Bhandara to stretch Kalyan.

Activists claim that the color of the river in a stretch of about 8 km has changed since Monday morning but MPCB visited at night to collect samples when the river color changed.
Another activist Shashikant Dayma voiced with pollution on the Ulhas River said, “After seeing a polluted river, we had called MPCB officials several times.
We even sent an email but the MPCB sent their team at night at 5:30 a.m.
when the river color changed normally”.
L L Waghmare, executive engineer Division MPCB Kalyan said, “The main probe shows that the river color does not change because of chemicals.
We have collected river samples and reports from the laboratory will confirm the reason for changing color”.
MPCB ​​officials suspect the resort approaching the river may have removed unprocessed water which could be a reason for changing water color for some time.
