Thane: Thane District Consumer Disputes The negotiating commission has ordered a company that runs the training class to pay the compensation of Rs 10,000 to the complainant.
The Redressal Consumer Consumer Dispute also directs the coach’s class to restore the cost of Rs 40,000 along with interest of 10 percent of the last date of payment, to the complainant.
The order was authorized by the Commission on August 13 and the copy was available on Wednesday.
The complainant told the commission that he had registered his son at the Coaching Institute in Kalyan in Maharashtra in 2017 for taking classes for competitive exams.
He has paid Rs 40,000 as part of the cost and issued seven post-date checks (PDC) for the remaining payment.
However, his son then changed his people and the company did not agree to give him a class coach for the same thing.
Therefore, the complainant decided to cancel the acceptance of his son and send a letter to the opponent on July 26, 2017 to return RS 40,000 paid by him and return PDC.
When he did not get the right reply from the opponent, he approached the consumer’s rundressal commission.
The President of Commission Millind S Sonangane and Poonam member Maharshi in their order said the opponent not only lacked in service, but also adopted unfair trade practices in dealing with complainants.
Therefore, the complainant has the right to get a refund of Rs 40,000 with an interest in 10 per year from the date of the last payment conducted on July 18, 2017 until the realization of the shared number with seven PDCs, they said.
He also has the right to get RS 7,000 on physical and mental harassment and RS 3,000 as a case process, commission words in the order.
