Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut failed to appear before the Mumbai police on Wednesday in connection with FIR who signed it to oppose it for a post suspected of connecting farmers’ protests to the separatist group, an official said.
A pine was registered against Ranaut at the Khar police station last month after complaints by the Sikh organization.
The police earlier this month issued a notice to him to be questioned.
His advisor had told the Bombay High Court that he would appear before Khar police on December 22.
On Wednesday, his lawyer looked for another appearance date.
“Going by the Spirit, aimed at and the intention of a high court order, we asked the investigative officer for the previous date and wanted to speed up the process before the hearing of the next court.
However, the investigative officer did not want to accommodate us.
He did not respond to messages or calls I also could not return In the letter presented to it immediately after order, said lawyer Ranana Rizwan Sidique.
“Now my client will appear before him on the earliest date that might be available.
If the officer does not accommodate us, we will give it to the High Court to decide on this problem,” he said.
The city police had previously told the Bombay High Court that they would not arrest ranaut until January 25, 2022 over the social media post suspected of connecting farmers’ protests to separatist groups.
The police have made the statement after HC said this problem involves a greater question about the fundamental rights of Ranaut to free speech and that the court must provide some ad-interim assistance.
Ranana approached HC earlier this month, looking for that FIR who enrolled against him at the Khar police station was canceled.
The FIR was registered against the actor after a complaint conducted by several members of the Sikh body who claimed Ranaut, through his Instagram post, had portrayed the farmers’ protest at the Delhi border as the Movement of Khalistan.
The police then ordered Ranaut on accusations deliberately hurting community religious sentiments, under the section of 295-a from the Criminal Code.
