Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has approached the Bombay High Court seeking process arrangements initiated by city judges with complaints of defamation submitted against him by the lyrics of Jawn Akhtar.
In an appeal submitted through the Advocate Rizwan Siddique, Ranaut claimed that the Metropolitan Magistrate Court Andheri initiated the process of it by relying only on police reports and did not examine independent witnesses.
Akhtar filed a criminal complaint against Ranaut in November 2020 before the judge for allegedly made a slanderful comment and was based on him in television interviews.
In December, the court directed the Juhu Suburban police to conduct an investigation.
After the police stated in his report that a violation was carried out with a further face and investigation needed, the court initiated a criminal process against Ranaut and issued his summons in February 2021.

which never happened at all,” said the actor’s request.
The possibility of witnesses is influenced by the police and the judge must record witness evidence under oath to “determine if the actual case is made”, he said.
The High Court is likely to hear Ranaut’s request next week.
