Thiruvananthapuram: Minister of Higher Education R Bindu said the controversial Syllabus of the University of Kannur for MA and political governance would be reviewed by the university.
“If the syllabus requires changes, the university will take the right step.
If some of the proposed additions will be dropped, the university will do it.
Likewise with the addition of the syllabus,” Minister said on Friday night.
The minister’s reaction came after he received a report from Kannur University Vice-Chancellor Gopinath Ravindran about this issue.
The minister previously called the development in connection with the University Syllabus as ‘very sensitive’.
Secretary of Civil Act CPM Vijayaraghavan also said that this problem demanded serious attention.
“We are a secular state.
Dangerous has communal references in university syllabus,” said Minister, added that university authorities did not need to really realize all changes in the syllabus and shades.
New courses for MA governance and political science were introduced at Brennan College under the University of Kannur last year.
This study was recommended for the third semester of the courses in Indian political thinking – has suggested controversy as a critic dubbed the inclusion of Golwalker and Savarkar political thinking as a saffronization of syllabus.Tnn
