Kanpur: A 18-year-old girl allegedly kidnapped and raped in the bush near the central area of the Ordnance Depot (COD) by a man who was transmitted in Babupurwa on Saturday night.
After being told, the police took action and arrested the defendant on charges of kidnapping and rape.
The defendant, a resident of Lal Bangla, the Chake area, allegedly kidnapped the girl when she went shopping.
“He allegedly lured the girl with the pretext and took it to the COD area in a van and then raped it in the bushes,” said Inspector Babupurwa Devendra Vikram Singh.
Then, the defendant allegedly threw the girl on the road in Bakajaj and fled.
