Kanpur: Mastery of the Special Investigation Team (Set) investigating the 1984 anti-sikh riots has been extended six months.
Sit had written a letter to the state government to extend the term of office.
Sitting now given time to complete the investigation and make arrests in May 2022.
The case investigation is almost over.
After the document, only the arrest of arrest is now delayed.
In the anti-Sikh riot, 127 people were killed in Kanpur after the murder of Indira Gandhi’s prime minister on November 1, 1984.
After submission of reports, actions cannot be taken due to lack of evidence and witnesses.
Ownership sits up on November 27, 2021, so the SIT head has sent a letter to the state government that is looking for extra time.
On Monday, the state government extended the trial period until May 27, 2022.
Sitting had identified more than 80 accused.
