N’Golo Kante continues to be fundamental to Chelsea’s victory from the Champions League this year and the Blues are expecting that the defensive midfielder, who sustained a hamstring injury in their Premier League match against Leicester City, will soon be prepared to take on Manchester City at the Champions League final on Saturday.
Former Manchester City and England goalkeeper David James also believes Kante’s fitness is going to be among the most significant things in this conflict of EPL giants.
“It is to be observed whether it was a hamstring tear he lasted or if he arrived off apprehending it might be a rip,” James told TOI on Friday.
“When the latter is correct, it is hard for him to become fit for the last.
He’s been phenomenal throughout the year and with no Chelsea have fought to control matches.
For me personally, Kante, together with goalkeeper Edouard Mendy (who’s also coming out of a rib injury) would be the most significant players to Chelsea,” James added.
