Kanyakumari Rain: Holidays are declared to be edu institutions

Kanyakumari: A vacation was declared for schools and colleges at Kanyakumari District on Friday when the rain attacked the southernmost district all day on Thursday and continued until Friday.
The district received an average rainfall of 77.2 mm with eight places to record rainfall of more than 100 mm in 24 hours to 8 in the morning.
Surulacode recorded 150 mm highest rainfall.
Kannimar (136.8 mm), Perkhani (129.8 mm), Mambalathurarrow (115.4 mm), Aanaikida (111.4 mm), boothapandy (106 mm) and mylaudy (102.4 mm) is another station that records Very high rainfall of more than 100 mm.
Among other places that record heavy rainfall in this district is Adyamadai (86.2 mm), mukkadal dam (81 mm), balamore (73.2 mm), Kottaram (70.2 mm), Nagercoil (68 mm ), Kolipurvilai (67 mm), Pechiparai (63.6 mm), Kalaly (54 mm), Aralvaimozhi (53 mm) and Thuckalay (50 mm).
Ten cottages were partly damaged in the rain.
They included eight in the Vilavancode Taluk and each in the Taliuk Thiruvattar.
Mambalathurarrow, Poigai and Mukkadal Dam continue to overflow while the surface of water climbs quickly in four other reservoirs in the district.
The water level in the Mullaseriyar Dam continued to increase from 138.7 feet on Thursday morning to 138.95 feet on Friday morning because the flow of the Vaigai Dam reservoir was reduced to 933 Cusecs on Thursday afternoon.
The dam continues to get an inflow of 1,897 cusecs.
Dam storage increased from 6,798 MCFT on Thursday to 6,861 MCFT on Friday.
Rainfall was recorded in the other southern district 24 hours from 8am on Thursday to 8 in the morning on Friday it was as follows: Madurai (1.91 mm), Tirunelveli (1.25 mm), Tenkasi (1.4 mm ), Theni (4.79 mm) and Ramanathapuram (7.79 mm).
