New Delhi: Senior lawyer and former UNI Minister Sibal on Thursday wrote to Judge District Aligarh at Uttar Pradesh seeking prevention of inflammatory speeches on the events of ‘Dharam Sansad’ planned at 22-23 Janigarh.
The senior lawyer wrote to the authorities at Uttar Pradesh a day after the Supreme Court issued orders in the case of Haridwar Dharam Sansad.
Senior lawyer in his letter quoted a news report stating that ‘Dharam Sansad’ was held now in Aligarh on January 22-23 2022 where the speakers who participated in the events held at Haridwar Dharm Sansad Conclary tended to speak again.
He has urged authorities to take precautions based on part 144 of the criminal procedure code, 1973 and Section 3 and 5 of the national security law, 1980.
“The responsibility for taking precautions to prevent possible mass violence incidents, because That, falls on the District Administration, and you are responsible for administration in Aligarh, so the responsibility falls on your shoulders to take precautions to ensure no speech from this nature is made, “said Sibal in his letter.
“We are in the midst of elections to the legislature and while we do not want to associate motives to anyone, but if such speeches are made in the midst of elections, they will disrupt social order and have serious consequences for this country’s government.
Asking you to take such precautions in your strength as needed is included in Section 144 Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and Section 3 and 5 of the National Security Law, “the letter is read.
He also marked a copy of his letter to the Chairman of the Minister of Uttar Pradesh, the Indian Election Commission, the Secretary of the House, Ministry of Home Affairs and police supervisors, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
Previously on Wednesday, the Supreme Court issued a notification to the Uttarakhand and Delhi police on petitions who were seeking independent investigations about HariDwar Dharm Sansad’s speech which allegedly incited violence against the minority community.
