Karate kids makes salmak proud

Salem: Three students from the Indian sports academy in the city have pocketed the first place in the state-open karate championship tournament held in Thanjavur on August 15 and 16.
At an event held here on Sunday, National Karate coach ‘Renshi’ t Srinivasan And ‘Sensei’ R Suthakar congratulates students for their achievements in the state level tournament.
Stepping on Media, Suthakar said more than 1,500 karate students from all countries have participated in the championship, the first held after locking.
The winner is Sathish Kumar, who pocketed the first prize and a cash award of Rs 5,000 in the category of men’s words; S King Rajeshwari, who secured the first prize and cash award of RS 5,000 in the category of women’s words; And M Karthikeyan, which appeared topped in the category of kumite over 18 years old.
The tournament was held by following the Covid-19 guideline which was prescribed by the state government.
