Silchar: A police officer was arrested in Patharkandi from Karimanji Regency on Friday after a video said to show him with bribes from a man appearing on social media.
Allegations of Jitendra Prasad Singh are sub-inspectors of the Patharkandi police station.
A senior police officer in Karimganj said, “The accident had occurred on Jalan Bypass Patharkandi-Achimganj on October 16.
Two cars were involved in the accident and the Jitendra Prasad Singh, while investigating this case, allegedly demanded and took Rs 7,000 from one of the vehicle owners.
