MySuru: Unified District District Information Report which was recently published (UDISE + 2019-20) has shown that government schools have done better than private schools in expanding medical examinations to students.
This report is based on medical examinations conducted in the previous academic year.
According to the report, from 49,834 government schools, student medical examinations were carried out at 49,522 I.e schools.
99.37% of schools.
Contrary to this, from 20,069 schools without personal assistance, medical examinations were carried out with only 15,006 (74.77%) of schools.
According to government school teachers, this medical examination helps students in various ways.
“If students are found pain or suffer from problems, they are recommended to the Taluk / District Hospital for treatment.
These students are also offered free care by the government,” explained a teacher.
Karnataka State Commission for Children’s Rights Protection (KSCPCR) Antony Sebastian said private schools must also hold medical camps for students even though they are not mandatory.
Management related to elementary and secondary schools Secretary General D Shashikumar said the majority of private schools were doing exercises.
“Medical camps are not carried out in several schools where parents oppose such exercises on reason,” he explained.
“Integrating student health records with the Student Tracking System (STS) is one of the best solutions.
This will also include student vaccination status,” he added.
