Karnataka aims for Jab 2 Crore at Mnth: Health min

Bengaluru: With efficient inventory, Karnataka plans to significantly increase the coverage of Covid-19 vaccination by giving five doses of lakh a day, double the target to 10 lakh every Wednesday by setting a special drive.
Underpointing that it means business, the state provides a 6.8 lakh dose on Monday.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting with the Department of Health and Family Welfare officials on Monday, Minister of Health K Sudhakar said the improved drive would ensure that the dose of 1.5 to 2 crores was given a month.
He said the government aims to make the first Metro Bengaluru fully vaccinate all eligible residents.
The state receives 1.1 doses of crore in August, almost double the usual quota.
“Supply has increased after the Minister of Chief and I discussed this problem with the center,” said Sudhakar.
He said the goal was to discuss all those who qualified with two doses at the end of 2021.
Karnataka had provided more than one dose of both crores.
This means 20% of the five-crore population which meets the requirements fully vaccinated.
So far, four crore doses have been given in the state, including one crore within the boundary of the BBMP.
“The steps will begin to increase coverage in the Bidar district, Yadgir, Kalaburagi and Raichur,” said Sudhakar.
Countries in North Carnataka complained about poor vaccine supplies.
The Ministry of Health also plans to drive specifically for slum areas every day.
“Priority will be given to the Uttara Kannada border district, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, especially villages within 20 km of the border,” Sudhakar said.
He also emphasized the need for beneficiaries to provide the same cellphone number when taking the second dose.
“Otherwise, there will be a mismatch of information and the final certificate will not be produced,” said Sudhakar.
“Karnataka is one of the best performing states in Covid vaccination.” On Monday, one dose of lakh was given in Bengaluru alone, followed by a collection where 59,540 people were affixed.
Of the total 4.1 crore that has been inoculated in the state so far, 3.1 crore only receives one dose.
In Bengaluru, where more than 93.4 doses of the Lakh vaccine have been given, 68.2 lakh has received the first dose and 25.2 lakh has been fully vaccinated at 3:30 a.m.
on Monday.
