Bengaluru: The Akshaya Foundation Patra on Thursday continued the midday eating scheme (MDM) in Karnataka for children after the Pandemic Covid-19 made them away from school for the past 18 months.
The MDM program benefits lakh students in schools and schools assisted by the government.
“We feel humble to serve more than 75,000 children studying in 789 schools in and around Bangalore (Bengaluru) through our three kitchens in Rajajinagar, Vasanthpura, and Jigani’s centralized kitchen starting today,” a statement released by the Akshaya Foundation Patra .
“The foundation recognizes the need to continue the school eating program safely.
We have taken all important steps for shipping safe and nutritious foods.
Our employees are fully vaccinated and trained to carefully adhere to the Covid safety protocol of preparing, package, and send food to school mapped, “said the statement.

Akshaya Patra Foundation is a non-profit organization that seeks to overcome hunger and malnutrition among school children in India.
By applying the MDM scheme, not only aims to fight hunger but also bring children back to school.
