Hubballi: In a race for a ministerial bed, Navalgund Mla Shankar Patil Munenakoppa has emerged as a winner when the BJP high command triggered him into the cabinet on Wednesday.
BJP also violated the tradition of choosing elected representatives from urban areas in the Dharwad district by discrolling Munenankoppa, representing the Navalgund segment which only has rural areas.
It comes as a big setback for Hubballi-Dharwad West Mla Aravind Bellad, who is rejected by bed.
Bellad, twice MLA achieved attention with camping in Delhi to lobby for post cm.
After skipping the bus, Bellad lobbied hard to enter the Bommai cabinet with camping in Delhi, but his efforts did not produce any results as the party chose Navalgund twice Mla Munenakoppa for the post from Dharwad.
After the former CM Jagadish Shettar chose to get out of the Bommai cabinet, both Bellad and Munenakoppa tried their best to convince the party over brass to get a bed.
Munenkoppa has succeeded in his efforts in the Bommai cabinet.
Munenakoppa has the support and support of former BS Yediyurappa and Jagadish Shettar, who helped him into the cabinet.
Meanwhile, Bellad, who was also in the race as a strong competitor, was said to have invited the anger of seniors, especially BS Yediyurappa, because it lobbyed to be CM, said the source.
Bellad supporters hit the streets and protested at KC Circle and Gokul Road in Hubballi.
They said BJP had failed to recognize the contribution of Bellad’s family for party growth in the region.
Because around four minister beds are still open, the party must consider Bellad, they said.
However, Munenakoppa supporters claimed that he was a senior MLA in the district after Shettar and also senior to Bellad.
In addition, he has worked as a parliamentary secretary when Shettar is CM and also works as a KUIDFC chairman during the Yediyurappa CM office.
He never lobbied for a minister’s bed.
Considering sincerity, hard work and ability, the party triggered him into the cabinet, they said.
