Karnataka: Chamarajanagar adds a bed, oxygen infrastructure

Mysuru: Chamarajanagar Regency, where 24 people died allegedly after the Covid-19 hospital ran out of oxygen during the second wave, did not leave the stone missed in preparing the third wave of possible Covid-19 infection.
Children’s care unit 120 beds have been arranged at the Chamarajanagar Hospital Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) and 10 beds have been reserved for children in staterun hospitals in Kollegal, Yelandur and Gundlupet to overcome the possibility of a surge.
These units are equipped with infrastructure such as oxygen and emergency drugs and have been equipped with high flow nasal channels, CPAP machines and ventilators for children.
The Ministry of Health has also trained 380 mentors, doctors, pediatrics, nursing and paramedics, in addition to workers Anganwadi and Asha, to treat children.
The district government has associated with experts from St John’s hospital based in Bengalaru and Mysuru-based JSS hospitals to provide training.
Because mothers will also be allowed to live with infected children in Covid care centers, training has been given to doctors to take care of them during their stay.
The district government has also established nine new oxygen factories in the district level hospital and the mark to facilitate oxygen supply.
Plants have been installed in CIMS, and the Government of Hospital in Kollegal, Yelandur, Ramapur, Gundlupet, Santthemarahalli, Kabballi, and Begur Public Health Center.
Because of the surge in Covid-19 cases in Kerala, district administration has tightened the screening of people who arrived from neighboring districts at Moolehale and Keep Cheldposts.
Dr.
MC Ravi, District Health Officer, said all 23 Covid care centers opened during the peak of the second wave will remain functional, although only four have patients.
