Bengaluru: The controversial survey of the Church ordered by the legislative committee to curb religious conversion that violates the law is likely to be shunned as the speaker assembly Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri has formed a new panel.
Members are reportedly not interested in pursuing this problem.
Kageri on Monday is the nine shared home committee, consisting of members of the Assembly and the Board, and six assembly committees as the working period ended in November.
BJP MLA Kumar Bangarappa has replaced his party colleagues Jetted by Keshav Shetty as a backward class leader and a minority welfare committee, which had ordered a church survey in October.
Former Minister and BJP MLA from Hosadurga GooSihati Shekhar had led a committee meeting in the absence of shetty when ordering a survey even when he complained that his mother was converted into Christianity.
Interestingly, Shekhar and Shetty have been contemplated to the committee, but the sources said the new panel would not enter a church survey in his report to be submitted in the assembly.
The panel has not been to ReportWhile table all other old committees have submitted their report at home, backward classes and minority welfare committees have not yet done so.
BJP was reported to have decided to put the problem behind the burner because he had tested anti-conversion bills (protection of the rights of the right to religious freedom of Bill-2021), which was passed by the Assembly and was submitted on the council but still on the board to be considered to be approved by the top house.
“We have achieved what we want by introducing anti-conversion bills in the legislature.
Separate exercises from gathering information about unauthorized churches and unlawful conversion activities are no longer needed now.
So, the house panel will not chase him,” said Shekhar.
However, several MLA Congress such as Rizwan Arshad and Na Harris, who have been contemplated to the Committee, urged the survey findings to be included in the report because it revealed that there were no strong conversion examples.
“The findings of Hosadurga Tahsildar’s inspection, who did not find strong conversion in five churches, must be highlighted in the committee report before being submitted in the Assembly.
We will sue at the Committee meeting,” Arshad said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Legislative Council of the Basavaraj Horatti has delayed the MLC nomination to the Joint Home Committee of up to 25 newly elected members taking an oath at 5.
“For now, old members will continue on the committee.
They will be replaced by new nominations after January 5,” Horatti said.
Former SPEAKER KR Ramesh Kumar has been appointed as chairman of a politically significant public account committee (PAC) and BJP MLA GH Thippa Reddy has been nominated as Chair of the Public Business Committee.
