Karnataka: Colleges are relieved because most students have taken Jab

Higher Education Institutions, including the college level, will be reopened in the state on Mondays and students who have taken at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine can attend classes on campus if scheduled.
Officials in Mysuru said more than 80 percent of students there were vaccinated, while Mangalore University (MU) said that 70 percent of students and teachers crossed universities affiliated with it had taken Jab.
In Mysuru, the authorities organized a special encouragement to investigate students.
On the first day, more than 1,000 students, including nearly 600 from government universities, received shots.
An official said the target was to stab around 3,000 students.
So far, more than 80,000 candidates have been vaccinated.
The University of Mysore (UOM) and its affiliated colleges make preparations to continue the offline class for degree and PG programs.
Attendance is not mandatory.
Manasagotri, the University of PG campus, was disanitized on Saturday.
Learning on campus was suspended in April after the second wave of Covid-19.
Since then, only an online class occurred.
Uom R Shivappa Registrar said that the physical class could begin now because most students and staff members were vaccinated.
“We hold special camps for students, teachers, and other staff,” he explained.
Mangalore University, which has a college in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu, will be reopened on Monday, but will not do classes on campus.
“Classes on campus will begin only after completion of degree and postgraduate examinations.
The scholar exam will be held from August 2 to 14, while the PG exam will begin in August.
We opened the hostel on Saturday,” Mu Vice-Chancellor PS Yadadithithaya.
About 70 percent of students and staff in all universities have received the first dose of vaccines, Yadapadithaya added.
